Newbie Intro

(1) Very new to chickens, we got our first chicks a couple of days ago

(2) We have 5 chicks and will be raising whichever of them turn out to be hens in our Chicago backyard

(3) One of each of the following: Dominique (Henrietta), Buckeye (Hen Solo), Mystic Marian (Florentine), Americana (Attila the Hen), Salmon Faverolle (Chickovsky)

(4) So far I’ve enjoyed bonding with the chicks, the Dominique and Americana are so far the most apt to hop into my hand on their own

(5) Other hobbies are hiking, camping, gardening, candle making and fostering dogs

(6) My name is Susie, I live on the south side of Chicago with my husband, my 2 year old son and our 2 hounds. Our neighbors have a small flock of hens that we’ve been admiring for the last year or so and have finally decided to take the plunge.

(7) I found about this forum by watching every chicken show I could find on Amazon Prime!
