Congrats on keeping your birds safe and on still getting eggs. Winter chicken-keeping can be brutal.

I increase the amount of food I give my poultry when it's frigid out. I check regularly to make sure they have access to water, but only put a small amount out at a time to reduce the likelihood of spills and/or frostbite.

Joining BYC is a great way to start 2023; there are a lot of generous, smart folks here who will be happy to help you with challenges and cheer your successes. Welcome!

Hello and Welcome ! :frow I’m glad your flock made it through the storm. I think everyone had challenging weather for their location. It was scary. So glad we are having a great start to the new year with much better temps, what a blessing!

Welcome fellow Kentuckien! So glad you joined And you survived the awful storm. This is my third winter with my flock of 8 and by far the worst. -34 wind chill was just WRONG.

Keep your girls dry and out of the wind. And make sure they have water!

I only had 2 eggs freeze and bust. My girl Ruth is broody right now and if it had not been for her we might not have gotten any.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have.
