My guess is female

Put #1 and #3 side-by-side and take a picture together of them together from the topside.

Perfect! See how the one on the left is dark and has very little barring? When I have chicks like that, 100% of them are female.

I'm not 100% I know what barring is but great. What about the sedate behaviour? - if you're not sick of helping!
