I have to show one picture of our first two egg day

My question is a couple of my chickens do what we are calling the chicken stomp. When I walk into the run two of my girls will squat down, wings slightly open and then quick stomps on the ground. I think it is rather cool. What are they doing?

Its called egg squating. They are either laying or getting ready to. It is also they are showing that you are dominate like they do a rooster.

Sometimes when they squat like that they're simply bracing and flattening themselves to the ground because they feel threatened from above, as when a human walks in or a hawk flies overhead and there's no immediate hiding place to be found.

Congrats on your two egg day!
