Newbie question

Haven't gotten my chickens yet...still looking for coop. I saw one yesterday (tractor style) that I am very interested in but it does not have a screened bottom....can I add wire to bottom? Will this hurt the chickens? Worried something can get under the coop. Thank you for your help.

As long as something covers the wire, they'll be fine. But, otherwise it can hurt their little feet.

Usually the chickens just go into the portable henhouse at night. But, these type of housed chickens are much more susceptible to predator attacks.

You could also make a wire apron so nothing can dig into the run.
