Newbie questions about 8 week old chicks

Should be interesting. Just make sure they have access to plenty of grit to digest it properly.

No go on the pumpkin. I tried giving them some raspberries and they were not interested in those either. Did I get the most picky chickens or is it because they are young still? LOL
I do have a question about one of the australorps though. It was cool the last couple of weeks but it has warmed back up for now. Anything over 75 degrees and she is panting. The others are not doing this. She is the largest of the four. She seems fine otherwise. Poop is normal, she is eating and drinking. She has been a bit more cuddly but I think she sees the polish and brahma getting love and decides she wants some attention too, lol.

When my chicks were younger they had no interest in treats either. What I did was put together some scratch grains for them. I went out every day, a couple times a day and called them then tossed out the scratch. After 5 days or so I started adding bits of tomatoes and other things to the scratch (cut up) to start. After about a week of this I started just putting out whole pieces of things.

I have noticed there are some things that no matter how many times I feed them, they still will not eat. (I know a lady who says her chickens go crazy for potato skins and mine will not even look at them) So sometimes it is the birds, but sometimes I think it is the age and conditioning.

They have their individual tastes just like us. Some of it depends on what the most daring of the flock will eat. Mine definitely developed different taste after they were older.
