I'm sorry it took me so long to get back on here...

And I'm sorry to disappoint anyone - but ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT - Harriet wanted NOTHING to do with those babies! In fact, she wanted nothing to do with raising babies so much that she's not even broody anymore! Must be she just liked the idea of motherhood? Because by the time I got 4 babies under her she was total freaked out! She had a look on her face like "what the heck is all that peeping going on under me?" She was pecking at them and totally bewildered and finally after about 3 minutes she got up and walked right out of the nest and never looked back! She jumped up on the perch with the other hens and hasn't been back to brooding for one second since then.

Now I have to wonder - is she REALLY SMART? LOL.

Oh well... it doesn't make me a bad person for trying, but now I have to raise these little rascals.

Thanks again everybody - and good luck to anyone else trying this.
