newbie questions .. don't laugh

i have 8 chicks , as a gift .. if i have a rooster and he is in with the hens.. can you still eat the eggs or should i put him alone with his own run?

yes the eggs will be fine as long as you remove the eggs from the nest daily..

and we never laugh at questions...

now silly mistakes we will laugh right beside you but never at you!..

yeah you can still eat the eggs. We have our rooster in a coop with 3 girls and the eggs taste just the same.

Keep him with the ladies if he isn't too old, he might be a little rough on young ones . . .my mom always said the fertilized eggs were better for us to eat!!!

Fertilized eggs are fine for eating... just collect them often (I get mine 2x day) so the hens don't go broody... unless you want chicks.

yes you can keep rooster with your hens and yes you can eat the eggs! Enjoy your new babies!
