Niacin Question for the Folks at Purina

So sorry for the delayed response, casportny! This spring has been a busy one!
We fortify each of these products with considerably more than enough to meet the niacin requirements of each of the relevant species. Layer chicks need a minimum of 27 ppm for the first six weeks of life, less after that. Ducklings need 55 ppm, and gamebirds need 30 to 70 ppm, depending on the specie. Purina products are optimally fortified to meet the needs of these various types of birds. Hope this helps - Let me know if you have other questions!

Asked the question again, today, specifically for Game Bird Starter. I see Niacin in the ingredients, but no estimate of the amount.
From the response, you could imply that the amount was at least 70ppm, but no statement.
Their duck feed pellets, which are large for ducklings, have 55ppm Niacin.

I received a very timely and complete reply from Purina, signed TeamPurina, and in checking back, found the same person handled the request, not a robot(!)
I quote:
Purina® Game Bird Starter is not an appropriate feed for starting ducks, including mallard ducklings. The protein level in Game Bird Starter is much too high for ducklings, and importantly, the feed is not labeled for use in ducks.

For proper nutrition and healthy development, we recommend one of the following feeds, all of which are suitable for starting ducks and meet or exceed the 60 ppm niacin requirement for ducklings:

• Purina® Duck Feed
• Purina® Flock Raiser®

These options are formulated to support the specific nutritional needs of ducklings, including appropriate protein levels and niacin content.

I went out and purchased Flock Raiser, and it even has a photo of a duckling on the packaging. The 1 week baby mallards gobble it down.
