Hi, introducing myself to this great website, using the copy/paste method:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, new to chickens. Got my first ones only yesterday.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Six.
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 English Orpingtons (pallets, 3 mo. old), 1 Rhode Island Red, 2 Cuckoo Marans, 1 Americauna.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Suggested by my cousin in Ohio.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to walk my dogs, am taking guitar lessons, piano player, gardener, love to camp in our '84 VW Westy.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to Randy, have one son and one grandson in New Hampshire. Spent most of my life working as a school nurse in central Pennsylvania, am semi-retired now and own a foot care business where we take care of people's feet that can't do it themselves (the best job I've ever had). Live in beautiful Eagle Creek, Oregon, have a view of Mt. Hood to the east and the Clackamas River valley to the south.
Looking forward to living with and learning about chickens!
Jackie
