(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am still semi-new Id like to think. I have had chickens for about 2 years now. Had them growing up but got serious about it the past 2 years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5 right now. Most I had was 7.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 3 silkies, (2 hens, one roo)
A cochin bantam roo
Blue english roo paired with old english black hen.
I am slowly becoming obsessed with silkies! <3

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Everytime I google something "chicken related", this site popped up :D so thought might as well sign up I'm always on here anyways!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy horseback riding, riding jetskis, going to the lake, Law&OrderSVU, going to local breweries, anything dog-friendly, trying new restaurants.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have been married for about 2.5 years. No human kids but a ton of pets! Yorkie, Labrador, 2 Pointers, a horse, a mini donkey and of course the 6 chickens.

G’Day from down under Fluff_Obsessed416 :frow Welcome!

In case you have not found it yet, BYC has an active Silkie Thread

If you include your general location on your profile, this will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC also has Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
