Newbie to quail :)

Morning all i already have chickens/chicks but currently have quite a few courtinx quail eggs in the inc they due to hatch around the weekend i have read up a lot on them but am a newbie to them any words of wisdom would be appreciated

My concern is the brooder i read tey start trying to fly pretty early and can hurt themselves on wired roofs would mesh be better?

You either need a low roof so they don't get up much sped or a very high roof, so they have room to fly without hurting themselves. I chose a low roof and mine have been fine

My brooders are Guinea Pig cages, working fine.

If they are getting older, some are bouncing into the top, when scared, but I never had any injuries.

Mine are leaving the brooder with 3 to 3.5 weeks, ... till then they do not develope so much impact energy.

Thanks guys so for first few weeks i was thinking this indoor guniea pig cage my chicks in it at mo but be transferred in the week. .. ita high only thing is doesnt have a roof i had to makeshift one

You may want to wrap that in hardware cloth. Quail chicks are tiny and might be able to get out. I use a tote with hardware cloth on top.
