Newbie to raising chickens

We just bought some chicks yesterday at our local tractor supply store. We got 6 pullet red linked hens. I think they are Golden Comets but I'm not sure. Is there any special trick to doing this? I'm just hoping they all survive as we know nothing about this. My husband wanted to take on this project I'm hoping this site will become very useful.
