Hello! I am Moriah, and I currently do not own any chickens.
BUT my fingers are crossed for some chicks next month! (Specifically two Red Stars, two Black Stars and a Dominique) I have been lurking on BYC for a few days now, and it truly is addictive, not to mention helpful.
We, being my family and myself, were concerned about the laws pertaining to backyard chicken keeping in Memphis, but we just got the green light from animals services literally seconds ago. Soooooo, keep your fingers crossed for me!
Dunno if this was more of a ramble or an introduction... Either way, thanks for reading!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I haven't had chickens since I was much younger, so I think I qualify as New To Chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
, Zero, hopefully five soon.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We will likely have some Black and Red Stars, but I am ridiculously in love with Australorps.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I believe it was Google who fatefully addicted me to BYC.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I paint, sculpt, skate, play the guitar, oggle my hermit crabs, read, write and lecture cats about litter box usage and the etiquette of such.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a student currently living in Memphis with my lovely family. We own three cats, eight hermit crabs and a ten-gallon guppy tank. I discovered urban chicken keeping whilst mournfully admiring urban goat keepers [owned, loved and worshiped goats], and fell in love.
