Hi, I have recently got these chickens and have no idea what breed they are.

My black bantam lays small blue eggs only, she is stunning with a black plumage which glistens green as the light reflects off her feathes and her legs are black as well. This chook has the most fantastic black "mohawk" style head dress/feathers with a little crest and almost no wattles.

The second one is very active and friendly, small and with a beautiful look, she has feathers growing down her legs and out of her feet (my son named her "Footsie" for this reason). She is small, but bigger than "Gunner" (my black bantam) She is not yet laying so cannot tell you what colour they are/will be.

Please could you guys have a look and tell me what breeds you think they are, thank you x x

P.S. (I really hope I did this right

Well if the black one is laying blue eggs, the only chicken breeds I know of that lay blue eggs are Araucana and Ameraucana and Easter Eggers(mixes of one of the latter two with another breed that makes them carry the blue egg gene). So I think your black one is an Easter Egger(mix)... And the brown one could be a Cochin cross.

My Ameraucana x Silky/Naked neck hen looks like that barely any comb or wattles and an adorable little Pompadoo on her head.

I'm going to guess Gunner is a polish X OEGB. He's got a gamey stance and carriage to him but that top knot says polish to me and not silkie because of the clean shanks. The other probably a cochin crossed with ??? That's a lot of help, isn't it?!

Thanks guys, yes I'm on the other side of the pond in little 'ol England.

I am really enjoying our chooks and love the blue eggs we are getting from her, so what ever breed she is she is a joy

She is only 20 weeks old so has not fully developed her comb, although I believe it looks like a pea comb

(an expert I am certainly not lol)

Thank for your input though guys, I was curious. I got them as a kind of rescue so have little info on them all (x 5) other than a rough age, that they all lived together and the last date they were wormed, loused etc.
