I am new to this site but I get on here often. I decided today I should go ahead and join. I read a lot that people has to say bit I have never seen anyone with a similar situation to mine. I am the proud owner of a 5 yes 5 year old male Texas A&M quail. He turns 5 in April and I have 4 other quails that are in my brood. I have a jumbo brown hen, Italian hen, abother male Texas A&M, and a male rosetta quail. I do not hatch any of the eggs I get and I rarely eat them. Often times they go to waste because I have no one to give them to. I could sell them but I would much rather just give them because I waste so many. The quails I have are pets more than they are for laying or meat. I would never eat them or think of it. I don't have a problem with whoever chooses to do so I just don't prefer to. So that's alittle about me and I'd love to find someone with another elderly quail like myself.

Welcome!

Sorry, I have no experience with quail. However, you might want to post on the Quail Forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/48/quail

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Glad you joined the BYC flock. You must be providing excellent care for your quail to have a 5 year old male, and hens that keep providing eggs. You might want to post on the Quail thread to see if anyone is near enough to benefit from your eggs., and your generous offer.

Hello there, and my warmest welcome to the flock! I am quite pleased you decided to join us, please pull up a chair and make yourself at home here! I hope you enjoy it here as much as I have! :frow
