Newbie with first ever chickens...

We just picked up our first group of laying hens yesterday (4 isa browns, 1 year old) from an Amish neighbor up the road. Considering there were no eggs to be seen this morning, is there a typical time frame before they start getting more accustomed to their new home and will start laying again?

I've read where the stress of a move can throw them off for a bit, but wanted to see if others experienced the same thing. They came from a flock of about 50 birds, so I'm sure the 4 girls are still just getting adjusted...just wanted to see if there was any rhyme/reason.

It depends - but average, a couple weeks. Have fun with your new chickens!!! CG3

Unless the stress induces a molt, they will start back up in a week or two. If their run starts looking like a pillow exploded, then they are molting. When they molt, they cannot lay eggs, as all their protein is going to growing in feathers.
