Hi everyone. My name is Tony Beason. I'm from upstate SC. I'm also new at raising and keeping chickens. I just got my first chicks today. 6 hens and 1 rooster. I look forward to learning from everyone and expanding my flock.

Nice to meet you Tony, Welcome to Backyard Chickens. If you go to "where am I, where are you?" in the social forum you can locate and post on your state thread. That way you may find other chicken folks living near you.

The Learning Center is a fountain of good information- a great place to start a chicken education. You may also want to check out the coops section for lots of ideas and even some building plans.
