Hello!

I am new to chickens and to this site. I got 3 babies in early March: a white rock, golden laced wyandotte and a silver laced wyandotte. I designed and built a coop/tractor, but they get lots of time out in the yard. My cats and yellow lab coexist with these lovely birds and all is well so far. My only concern is the weird noises my WR is starting to make, mostly in the morning, and we are hoping it's not really a roster and these noises are not an attempt to crow.

I read quite a bit about chickens before and since I got them, but I am looking forward to learning so much more!

Here is a picture of my WR in case anyone can tell if it's going to crow soon!

Please make yourself at home! I do believe your WR is a rooster.

Oh no! I can't keep a rooster. I love her/him so much! He/she will be staying until I know for sure, but thank you!

Thank you all. My hen is a he.
This morning it was clear. He was indeed trying to cock-a-doodle-do. What to do with a roo?
