Hi all!new at this chicken thing . Just practicing posting I just received some of these chickens. Do you know what kind they are. And is this normal on them?

Hi guys. Yes I'm new. this chicken thing gets complicated. Have one hen. One rooster. And we have a 3.5 month old baby. Thought it was a hen but now the chick is jumping moms back. Can I take him out of the pen with her now? She is a great mom and very protective of this baby. They just started to roost. Will he be okay in a pen by his self? I would like to put the rooster back in with my hen.
