Ive been noticing straight blood under where my hens have been roosting and small amounts of blood in their poo should I treat for coccidia? I also have two call ducks in with them and 3older chicks in a separate cage but in the same coop should I treat all? Everybody is acting fine just concerned about blood

Hi and

Sounds like it could definitely be coccidiosis and I would put them on meds. Here are some great articles on cocci: article 1 article 2. Good luck!

Hey @tianaresor Yes it sounds like cocci and as @BantamFan4Life and @BuffOrpington88 As for the intro I am so happy you joined us here on our roost at BYC!
There are a few other links I will leave you. The first is link I recommend to ALL BYC members because no matter how experienced or unexperinced you are it helps tremendously. There are updated articles for you to browse in a very broad area of many subjects.

However if you are looking for a particular subject then see if there is a thread regarding it so if you are looking for Raising Baby Chicks that forum will have more articles and post then the Learning Center and is easier to locate. Here are some direct links I think you may enjoy.

So I hope you have enjoyed BYC for the short time you have been here, and make sure if you have any free time from taking care of your flock go over to our Family Life forum and post pics and updates on you and your flock.

I hope you have a great day and a great 4th of July Weekend!
