I'm from Georgia and primarily raise horses. Hubby wanted chickens so here I am.

Thank you. This site is great. I am raising back yard chickens for first time. My rooster has been wonderful until last week he has started flogging charging g at me and my dog when I let them out. What can I do to stop this behavior. 2nd question I have a water barrel set up to be self sustainable but the water is green. My son said to put cap full of bleach but will that effect the chickens or the eggs

Good luck with the mean rooster. I use to have one that would flog me and leave holes in my leg. I finally had to get rid of him.

A rooster like that needs to be invited to dinner, as the guest of honor. They say the meanest roosters make the best stew.
