So I'm new to the chicken world. My family has 8 hens around 4 months old. Two white leghorns,an Easter egger,2 black australorps,2 barred rocks and a Rhode Island Red. Our two leghorns has recently started laying. We lost 6 hens to a fox. We decided to replace the ones we lost by ordering chicks for the first time. The original hens came from a farm supply store. The new chicks we ordered were a Columbia Wyandotte,a light brahma, speckled Sussex, welsummer, buff Orpington, white leghorn hens and a blue Cochin rooster to protect all of my girls! I think I discovered the sight looking for more info.
