Newbie!

I bet! I'm getting eggs like crazy but they won't lay on them so I usually pull them. The longest I left them in the nest was a month just to see if she would finally stay in the nest but she didn't. I ended up with 45 eggs I wasn't sure what to do with them! I'm not sure if they'll ever hatch any on their own- which is fine.
I tell people though- 'i'm not trying to have baby ducks, but I'm not preventing it'
Sounds like a familiar story with some of my girlfriends haha!
Some won't ever raise their own young. Out of all my chickens I have only 5 that will sit and raise their own babies. And 1 Out of the 5 Only did it once. So it Just depends on the bird and the time of year. But when they do it is so exciting and amazing!! I hope one day you get to experience it! It really is awesome!

If it does happen I'll be on here like a crazy person in labor. I read a thread earlier that was so intense with this little egg he rescued and incubated on his own, I felt like I was reading a suspense novel!
...that'll be me though if it does.
