Hey there, we got some chicks about a week ago, a Buff Orpington, 2 Sapphire Gems, an americaner, and 2 silkies. 6 total. I think one of my silkies is a male based on the difference in posture between the two. . He’s only a week old, but the difference is very noticeable.

One of our Sapphires has had a limp since we got her a week ago. She’s hanging in there so we will see.

Silkies are one of the most difficult breeds to sex early. Generally 4-5 mos. of age is a good time to try. Sometimes you don't know positively until they crow or lay eggs.

I hope I’m wrong! We can’t keep a rooster and they are for my kids.

Anyone have any idea what color they will be?
