Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost!:highfive:
I have experienced aggression in one of my pullets and although they are not as vicious as cockerels, it can still hurt. I had tried the method where you push them down to the ground for a few minutes to show your dominant, but of course that wasn't successful at all. So one day when she decided to take a lunge at me, I kicked her hard back into place and it never happened again.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
Well, after I pushed her around some she seems to be settling down. This morning she started again but after a couple pushes she quit unlike yesterday when she just got angrier and I had to shove her more often until she gave up. Tomorrow is another day, we'll see how she does. May require more in depth "training".

My problem hen is over her "mad". She is now nice as pie. Still don't know what made her angry with me. yesterday I found her sitting in a remote part of the yard under some bushes. I tried to prod her out of there but she wouldn't budge. I left her alone and after a while I went back to check out the bushes she was under. To my surprise I found 3 small /medium eggs, the first I've had from these girls. The others were all squawking as if they laid the eggs. I'm still not sure which of the four is highest on the pecking order.

Thanks to each of you who sent me such nice "welcome to the group" replies. I know I'm going to enjoy this forum very much. I've already learned a lot. Thanks again!
