I am new to the chicken world. My hubby and I have talked about it for a while so we decided to jump in. My neighbor will be selling her place and is giving us 9 hens and 1 roo. We are building a coop this weekend. I got 4 silkies and 4 polish chicks last Friday. In order for my daughter to be ok with us using chickens for meat I decided to get the "pets" first so it wouldn't stress her out so bad lol. I am excited to learn and be the best "chicken momma" that I can be.
