Hi! I'm new too...well, sort of. And our situation is similiar, we were gifted an unwanted rooster and a hen, which we got in November (being in MN, we were totally unprepared). Thankfully, the birds are super hearty, and we all did well!
We are now raising 22x2-week olds (we got the fever...oh boy!) and it's quite the adventure!
Have fun, this place is a great resource and there's an expert on almost everything!
