Newbie...

Complete newbie here. I’ve never even held a chicken before (aside from the chicks we hatched in elementary school).
We are beginning to build our coop which I’m hoping will house up to 6 hens of RI Reds and/or Australorp due to our winters, demeanor, and egg production.
I’m looking forward to making this a family “project” with my husband and 4 and 7 year old daughters.

I am a classically trainer soprano and stay at home mom who enjoys leading our music worship at our church and starring in local theater and projects.
A life long family friend suggested this site and I’m looking for all of the advice I can possibly get!!!! Thank you so much for reading!
