Newbie

Hi Everyone, I’m new to here and to chickens. Went to TSC with a friend for shop towels and we both went home with 2 chicks -but at least remembered to get shop towels too lol I fell in love with them and after reading about possibilities of death & having a roo went back 2 days later for 4 more all supposed to be ameraucana pullets. Our city limit is 6 hens no rooster so fingers crossed. The chicks are 4 weeks old and still in the house since we are building a large coop with run which should be done by end of week. No soon enough I think they are stir crazy in the brooder pen I made from cardboard boxes. I’d wanted chickens for years but hadn’t thought of it seriously till in hand & this pandemic. We also have 6 kids(human lol) twin 11yr olds b/g and 4 kids in college 1b /3g of which only 2 home right now and 5 dogs (2-lab boxer mix, 1 pit mix, 1 choc. Lab and 1 chiweenie. We’ve also just started a garden 1st time down here. We moved down her 3 years ago. We Live in south Texas RGV originally from Connecticut.
