I've always had animals. But never chickens. This is so much fun. I'm 63, but it's good to have the exercise!

We have 5 chickens, each a different species. We just gave away two roosters that were supposed to be chickens from a Tractor Supply swap. They were too loud for my husband who has supported until the 5:00 alarms. And not enough hens for the two guys either.

I'll be asking you all questions as I learn.

Roosters are chickens. Male chickens. Hens are female chickens. Cockerels and pullets are male and female chickens less than 1 year old. Just FYI.
ETA: You are the only other person I am aware of who has the name Lisel other than my niece.
