Glad to finally be registered on this site, it's been a long time coming.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Absolutely brand spanking new.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 15
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two I know for sure, Gold laced Polish and Barred Rock...the others I am not so sure of.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Although I haven't ever registered until now, I've had this site bookmarked for several years lol!! Just waiting for the day I could get some chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, taking care of the kids, the hubby and my lil buddies (2 Chihuahuas), internet and I think that is about it.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a stay at home wife and mom. We have 5 children (2g, 3b), ages 21-7 and two grandchildren, ages 5 and 3. We just sent our 18 yr old off to basic training 2 weeks ago. I was pretty sad about him leaving so I think my hubby was trying to make me feel better and finally agreed to let me get some chicks
. I've been wanting them a long time!! We are both having fun with them, I'm learning all kinds of things about chickens I didn't know and the hubby is having fun planning the coop to go on the run he made. My two youngest children are here full time, and my 16 year old son is just up the road, he stays with my mother in law who lost her husband a year and a half ago and recently broke her knee and needed someone there to help her. Oh, my other pets...I mentioned them above, my babies Beaner and Myli. They keep me company when school is in session and after hours when everyone else is in bed (I am a night owl to the extreme!)
