Hello Fellow Chicken Lovers,
My name is Polly I am married to an amazing man and my best friend we have 3 grown children, boder collie named "Jack" and 11 chickens, 6 that are 2 yrs and 5 born this spring. I am in need of some advice.....my older hens are not laying consistantly...some days 1...some days 2 and if I'm lucky I might get 3. I don't get it. If you need more I be happy to elaborate. Just checking if any one will help first before I waste my efforts...your my last resort, please someone...give advice....will be much appreciated

Could your weather be to blame? If it is very hot where you live that could cause them to slow down.

Hello from Oregon & welcome to BYC. What breeds do you have? I have some that lay everyday & others that only lay a few times a week. I have also heard they slow with age. Best of luck.
