7 new chicks and 2 laying hens tomorrow! Chicks are inside & warm. Hens will be outside in a fenced area. Any suggestions until I get a coop set up?

! Great to have you with us! Not sure of your level of poultry knowledge in terms of proper feed and housing. One bit of advice I have is to keep the hens separate from the chicks as the hens will pick at and maybe even kill the chicks. The chicks need to be at least 1/2 grown before you integrate them. Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

A fenced-in area is unlikely to provide protection for your hens from weather and predators - I would get cracking on that coop!
