Hello, my name is Kristie. I am new here. I'm learning how to raise chickens and so far it's been a very interesting and rewarding experience. I get attached to all my chickie babies and care greatly about what happens to them even when they get older. I have them mainly as pets and for eggs. I haven't gone as far as eating them. I don't think I could handle that. My dad raised chickens when I was around 10 years old and at that time I would rather spend my time with the chickens than other children my age. I'm like that with all animals. I do have a few chicken books and have researched things on the internet when I have questions, but it keeps bringing me to this site and it seems like the best place to learn about chickens. =) So, I'm here! I started working at Tractor Supply in Roxboro, NC in September of 2013 so I'm still learning all kinds of new things. I hope to learn a lot more in the years to come! Thanks!
