I've been a member for a while but have never posted before. We have just recently moved to Kentucky from North Dakota, we had to sell our small flock of banties before moving and are now ready to start a larger flock of standards, (mostly for eggs) and looking for some new feathered friends and resume life- I tend to be leaning towards lavendar americaunnas and sweedish flowering hens, but also like marans,,, it's just so hard to narrow it to favorites, and I am learning about new breeds each day! I've been reading lots if your advice and learning as I go, we don't know the area very well so if anyone out there has some birds for sale I would live to chat, thanx!

Glad you joined us! Have a look in the Buy ~ Sell ~ Trade section for chickens for sale. You can keep different breeds together without hassles, if you can't decide on one breed only. I think most of us here have a few different breeds!

We currently have a contest running for our new members, if you are interested. Rules and how to enter here:

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3 on try the BST forum, and post on/check out your state thread for local birds https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/110/kentucky-people if you have specific breeds in mind, do a search and most of them should have individual threads and you may find breeders that don't advertise on those ie Lavender Am https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/683425/lavender-ameraucana-breeders-unite and SFH https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/375288/swedish-flower-hen-thread there are so many wonderful breeds to chose from, you might as well start building a bigger coop!

Welcome to BYC!

I would start with your state thread first and talk to your chicken neighbors. It is possible one of them has what you are looking for. Kelsie has left you with the link to your state thread. Good luck with all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!
