Hi all. I am new to this group. I have 4 hens and one Roo; they will be 2yrs in April. I am looking to learn more about chickens so here I am!

One Buff Orp, Barred Rock, RI Red, I believe Nellie is a Wyndotte and the Roo too

I've had all of those breeds at one time or another over the past 50 years (still have Buff Orps), and they are all hardy, dependable dual-pupose breeds that will give you lots of nice large, brown eggs. One thing though that you should consider if you're going to keep your rooster is getting 4 or 5 more hens to go with him. The recommended ratio of roosters to hens is 1 rooster for every 10 hens. As they mature, too many roosters will become very hard on your hens physically; over-breeding them, biting and plucking the feathers from their backs and necks, battering them, and potentially, seriously injuring them. Good luck with your flock.
 
I only have a 4 x 8 x 8 shed and my pen area is L shaped not real big. summer would be no problem but winter I don't free range them
