Hi, I am Jillian from sunny California and I'm in my first year of raising chickens. I currently have three 9 month old's (Silver Laced Wyandotte, Buff Minorca, and Rhode Island Red) and a brand new 5 month old (Barred Rock). I am hoping to add a couple Easter Eggers to the mix next month as I have found someone who has 4 month old pullets and I think that will complete my flock this year! Up until last week I also had a white cochin that my neighbors dog got and she was by far my favorite personality
I haven't ventured into supplementing light yet, so as of last October, I am only getting about 4 eggs a week from the Wyandotte. The Minorca went broody and has never started back up and the Rhode Island quit laying for the winter (at least I hope it is only winter)! In addition I have a Queensland Heeler, two cats, a husband and a 4 year old daughter, all of whom love the chickens
