Hello I'm a newbie I don't have Chickens but my son won a duck so now we are the proud owners of a 3-4 week old duckling. I really enjoy reading all the info on the ducks. This little fellow has really gotten into my heart, and he loves my miniature dachshund, I think he thinks it's his mother. Goes everywhere my dog goes. And she really looks after the duckling.
Anyway just wanted to say hello.

How nice, so glad to hear the dog and duckling are hitting it off well. Do you plan to have him as a house duck? He could go in and out with the dog (for protection) and maybe they would even sleep together. I think in this way, he could also learn a little about housetraining. There is a thread on BYC called "show off your house ducks," people really do have them as pets. Would love to see a video of duckling and dog.
