Hi there I am new to you web site (which I love by the way) My issue is we have 2 blue silkies and 2 japanese bantams and 2 Mille Fleur about 2-3 months old. We thought we were getting 6 hens and low and behold 2 roosters seem to be among us. We live in Colorado and have a heater for the winter. Do you think the bantams and silies will be ok in the winter and which rooster shall I think about giving to a neighbor who would like a rooster?
 
Welcome to Backyard chickens. Which breeds are the roosters? Are you interested in hatching purebred chicks? If so you would want both parents to be the same breed. If you don't intend to hatch or sell hatching eggs(fertile), you don't need a rooster at all.

You may want to post on your state thread to get advice about wintering you bantams in an outside coop and run. They would know your climate the best.
