I looked tonight and the air cells on my silky eggs are getting really big.... they go into the hatcher on Saturday.

I just candled all my eggs that hadn't hatched and the ones that are left are all dead. So I started with 24, 5 were infertile, 2 quit before day 18, 7 hatched and are adorable

, and 10 died in the 3 day wait.

So, 37% hatch rate for my first tme.

I am starting my countdown!
Three days until I stop turning.
I started with 16 eggs, tossed 4 that were infertile/no development, and two that had started but quit.
Out of the 10 left, all are have dark, moving babies inside!!!!

How am I ever going to wait the 5+ days til they come out??????

The were 3 california whites, 5 australorps, 2 BlRW, 1 SLW and 1 EE! I really can't believe they all hatched! I just put my second batch in the 'bator!

Well, finally tally is:
Set 8 eggs, one infertile, one quitter before day 18, but only three hatched out of the six remaining. One chick died yesterday, I am not sure why exactly but that is for a different post...
I am not sure if I count the infertile egg into my percentage?
