Well, good idea, but difficult to go back and do on those already done. If people post their percentage and their beginning # of eggs from here on out, I certainly can post those. Haven't gotten any 100%'s yet...
If someone wants to go back through all and put them in one post, I'll update that on the first page. (It's just to difficult for me to do at work.)

Mine won't be 100% either as I had a quitter a couple days ago. I have a split hatch, today is day 21 for 4 silkies and Tuesday is day 21 on 7 Welsummers. I cannot even candle the Welsummers because they are too dark.

This contest listing accepted names until 4/8/09, but we are hoping someone will begin another listing of first time hatchers. Any volunteers out there?

i need a clarification on my hatch precentage my eggs hatched on the 9th -10th
i purchased 10 hatching eggs after alowing the unhatched eggs to stay in he bator untill today (the 13th) i opened them up and discovered that they were all infertile no veins no nothing they had never been fertile

my question is do infertile purchased eggs count towards my hatch rate because if they do my rate is 20%

and if not my rate is 100%

also as a side note the eggs were from a few breeds the two that hatched are sisters from the same hen and related to none of the other eggs (well the same roo did fertilize the B/B/S hen aswell

one other thing they were marans and olive egger eggs which is why i could not see into them

My hatch just finished!! I didnt think any would hatch with it being my first incubation, but Im happy to say that 8 out 9 hatched!! The one unfortunately died after pipping.

I'm not sure how to calculate the hatch rate, or if infertile are included but here are my stats....

-Set 17 eggs 3-19-09
-1 blood ring
-7 infertile (9 fertile)
-1 died after pipping
-8 lived

If you look back, SpecklenHen tells us that bloodrings count against the hatch as they began to develop but became quitters. Infertile eggs that never began to develop are culled when candled at day 10, and do not count against the hatch. So, I believe you are trying to state:
10 eggs set - 8 eggs culled yesterday and 2 remain to hatch in 17 or 18 days? So where did the 2 that hatched come in the the mix... I'm confused. please help me understand.

ok! my hatch is complete. Set 5 eggs, all fertile. All candled on day 18 when removed from turner and all alive. 4 out of the five hatched with no problems. The fifth one never pipped. I would have left it another day, except my three year old broke the top of the incubator and the last egg with it. The chick was already dead in the shell. It was full formed, just dead.

. I guess thats not bad for a first time test hatch. Just wish I knew why the last one didn't make it. First hatch results.....80% if I did the math right!

I got 3 out of 10.

I started with 12, 2 didn't develope. 10 in the hatcher, 1 pipped and stopped, 1 zipped and stopped, candled the last 5 last night, no movement.

Not sure what happened. 2 of them had been rocking and cheeping but were never able to pip I guess.

But I did get these 3
