Hello all,

I am Kim. I bought a white silky rooster, 3 hens and 6 guineas at auction in the fall. Unfortunately a Possum ate all my hens. Then I got ran over by my horse OUCH ! Nearly killed me was in CCU for several days. Just before this I ordered 25 rare and very rare chicks from McMurray hatchery. They arrived the day before I got injured. I Love my chickies...they are outside now and have a large coop and yard to play and run in. Some of the chicks I have identified the breed of others no luck. But, I am having fun watching them grow and sometimes drag a lawn chair in with them so I can watch their antics. This has been great for letting all my broken bones heal and for peace of mind. Evidently I now have some sort of bird fever now as last weekend found me back at the auction where I bought 5 Royal Palm turkey chicks and 4 new silky chicks some of which I hope are hens for my poor silky rooster. I will add a picture of some of them. all of them are 8 weeks old in these pictures.

Anyway I just thought I would share some of my pictures. I will get some pics of the new silkys and turkeys soon.

Chicken fever is easy to catch and incurable. So I guess you will just have to hang out here and discuss chickens with the rest of the afflicted.

I still dont know much about alot of breeds but ide guess the one in back, in the pic 3rd from the bottom is a cuckoo maran based on where you bought it and its overall look.
I cant tell for sure if the one 2nd from the top is the same bird , if it is, I'll still make the same guess, but I cant see its comb that well. ( I'll take a guess based on the legs and say it probably is the same bird, let me know if i'm wrong)
As for the rest, I cant hazzard a guess, thats not my department.

welcome back....and I am so glad to hear you are on the mend. Yup, the best thing you can do now, is sit, and heal. Well....of course physical therapy ( chaseing a stray chick once in a while) LOL What cute chicks you have there. Nice selection!

Hello Kim, welcome to "Chickens Anonymous"! So glad you're here!
