Newbie's quick coop

I appreciate the heads up on ventilation. Perhaps this weekend I will pop another vent in. So far moisture has not been a problem, but I only have three birds at the moment, and very sanitary conditions. As far as coons and possums go, that will not be a problem. Should they get past my husky (which seems to have a special hatred for possums lately,) then they have to get past my guns. Plus chew through one layer of chicken wire, chain link, and then attempt to defeat my coop. Simple as my coop may be, the box was designed to protect a 400,000 dollar robot from impact and moisture. Also, my run is right next to the house, so any commotion in the night will not go unnoticed. Critters beware. :D

I think it's pretty impressive with such a short notice! We had a couple of weeks to prepare for our babies and can't say we did as good a job. Ours is still a work in progress, and will be for some time I'm sure, as we live and learn. Good luck with your new adventure!!

Thank you! I lucked out having the job that I have. Had it not been for the crate, I had a couple other ideas, but would not have been as quick or as aesthetic. I'm a mediocre carpenter, and can usually get the job done nicely if I take my time. Time I didn't have haha. Just ask my wife, it took me 8 months to remodel our master bedroom . I also looked at the coops at tractor supply and such, but in our price range they didn't seem very well built, and would probably end up being as temporary as this coop, for 3 times the cost of doing it yourself.
