(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? No, Husband is a native Nebraskan and country son. Wife is animal lover and veteran researcher who has wanted her own farm since they met.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently we have 9 chickens of varied types with several silkies on the way. We also have several Guineas on the way once the large enclosure is completed. We also have 8 ducks and are in the process to begin rescuing ducks once plans are in place.

(3) What breeds do you have? Chickens:
Buff Orpington, Wyandotte, Ameraucana, Easter Egger, Cornish Rex. Ducks: Pekin, Khaki Campbell, Blue Swedish, Rowen.

(4) What are your favorite Aspects of raising backyard chickens? Far too many to name here. A few are, tranquility for the time spent, being a bit self sufficient and my favorite is developing relationships with others of like minded interests.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Wife has many crafting hobbies and a penchant for learning and sharing knowledge of animals. The Husband has far too many and is a veritable fountain of useless information and skills. Electrician of 30+ years, welder/fabricator, Blacksmith, Leather crafter, Canine trainer and behavioral specialist (he can really get into the heads of animals) framer, goofball and mad scientist.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Two Labrador children to match the 3 others we have that are grown. We plan on growing our farm to include donkeys, pheasants, Quail, Peacocks and maybe other friends.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? Google
