One of my girls has broody for awhile. Today I checked on her, and I saw one wet little baby. I reacted in happy surprise by bringing my hand to my face. Big mistake. My face was instantly really itchy. I came in the house to wash and that is when I saw tiny, tiny bugs. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I don't know what to do. I don't want to overreact and spray pesticides in the coop right now. I have at least one wet, peeping chick in the coop and apparently a serious infestation I didn't know about. It has been really humid here, maybe that plays a role? What is my safest path forward?
Edit* So, maybe they aren't mites. Maybe they are baby spiders or something. I looked again, there are hundreds, maybe thousands on the outside of the coop, but not many inside. They were all over the handle, which, of course, is where I put my hand just before touching my face. I wiped down the outside of the coop where I could, but left the inside alone. I attached a video of the little bugs, and a picture of a new chick also to counter the ickkiness.
