Newborn-need advice

Hello, I have a day old chick. From the moment he came out he was very sticky with a swollen abdomen. He is eating and drinking b doesn’t seem to be pooping. He has what looks like a little hard piece of poop coming out but I can’t get it off with usual methods. I’m not totally confident it’s poop or a prolapsed bowel or something like that. Is there anything else to do aside from water, coconut oil on the bottom, scrubbing, etc. He is eating some egg yolk, feed and drinking water with a bit of sugar in it.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

How is your chick?
Are you looking at the vent or possible a scab on the navel?

Thank you! I think after a lot of examination and attempts to help, and research I believe it was an “a milk al stump”….so I’m glad I didn’t scrape or pull it.

Newborns look like pears and will have a scab/spot from where they were attached to the egg. Once they fluff up, they look more normal

I've seen them with part of the yolk sack still attached for a day. It will dry up and fall off.

This one was not doing well at hatch. Very touch and go.
