"Newborn" question on Other Poultry Database Forum

I see we're looking to build the Other Poultry Database where we include photos of various turkeys, ducks, geese, etc. I wonder if we can change the term "newborn" and replace it with "hatchling." I might be the only person on the planet who is bothered by "newborn" for poultry, but then again, maybe no one else has noticed it. On the chicken breed sites we use the word "chick," which won't work for goslings, or keats, for example, so would "hatchling" be better?

Let me know if I'm being too much the English person, but I thought I'd raise the issue.
