Hi everyone!! I'm Maddi and I'm new, obviously, lol. I have had chickens for about a year now. I have 19 total...17 hens and 2 roosters. And 1 little chocolate turkey!! I live on 3 acres in California. I have 2 coops, a run, and expanding! I have all different breeds from silkies and polish, to Orpingtons and Barred rock. I absolutely love my chickens to death!! There like pets, they run to me when I go outside and are very unusually tame haha. Right now I have four 3 month old chicks, three 3 week old chicks, one 3 week old turkey, and am incubating some eggs for the first time!! Very excited! The rest are about a year old. You could say I'm addicted to chickens...I find myself always getting more at every opportunity. That's why we're having to expand the coop haha. Anyways, if you would like to give me advice on incubating I made another forum post under "Incubating & Hatching Eggs" called "First time incubating...Advice???" I would greatly appreciate it!!

Should I share some pics of my flock for fun?? :3

Welcome to BYC!

Sounds like you are quite busy with lots of chickens! You might want to take a look at this article on our learning center on incubating eggs that may give you some helpful hints on the incubation process...

Good luck with the hatch and keep us posted!

Welcome to BYC! I love chicken and all my friends say that I'm obsessed with them.
I just got 4 chicks and I love them already! (I technically have 8 chicks but the 4 other chicks are extra males the hatchery sent us and I'm going to give them to some farms)
I'd LOVE to see all your chickens!
I have a Black Australorp, Black sex link, Brown sex link and a Silkie.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Great pictures! Love the turkey and the Buff pics. A big black breed could be Black Jersey Giant (would have yellow skin on the bottom of his feet) or.Black Australorp (would have pink/white skin on the bottom of his feet)

Thank you!!! I love my little turkey, he's the bomb. The little Roo is probably a Black Austrolorp now that I think about it, he has the pink/white skin on the bottom of feet and looks exactly like my hen of the same breed who's older. :)
