Newcastle. Or Blackhead. Peacocks, PLEASE HELP.

No less than 30mg/kg once a day to treat blackhead. I use more because at 50mg/kg twice a day one can also treat enteritis.

Chicks raised on the dirt with chicken mommas can get it simply by sitting in a pile of chicken poop! Google cloacal drinking ( on iPad, so too hard to copy/paste).

Dosing chicks will be hard to do... How old are they?

The chick dose I would use is 5mg per 100 grams. I haven't tried this yet, but one could take one 250mg tablet (well crushed) and add 10ml of corn syrup. I tried this with water, but the tablet particles don't really dissolve and they settle too fast, so I was thinking that they might stay suspended in the corn syrup. Anyway, 250mg and 10ml means that there are 25mg per one ml, so the dose would be 0.2ml per 100 grams.

Thanks Kat, he told me he thinks black head and a breeder told him just to give the chicks boiled eggs.

Just once a day or twice and if twice does he split the dosage or give the same amount twice a day? also how many days should he give it?

If he think it's blackhead, once a day should be fine, but some people do give it twice a day. Treatment for blackhead if five days. If it's enteritis, treatment is twice a day for at least two weeks, I think.

Poop picture would help.
